EV3 Robotics Program (EV3)
An exciting, extended day program is happening in the Miami-Dade County Public School District. It is called the FIU EV3 Robotics Program. Funded by The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant. FIU EV3 Robotics will offer many opportunities for students to improve their academic skills while participating in fun, positive and enriching after school robotic program!
FIU EV3 Robotics is designed to provide extended learning and enrichment opportunities to students and parents. Each FIU EV3 Robotics Site will be open 2 to 2.5 hours after school for planned activities, including academic tutoring, Monday through Friday. The robotics, academic, and personal enrichment activities will be held after school from August 29, 2016 to June 1, 2017 and in the summer June 19, 2017 to July 28, 2017. Robotics and academic enrichment activities will be provided at Miami Edison Park K-8 Center and North Miami Middle School.
FIU EV3 programming is provided at no cost to participants and their families.
Participant QualificationsStudents must be highly motivated to achieve and improve their academic coursework. Participants will need to commit to the after-school and summer program. The following criteria will be used in the selection process:

Summer Program Overview
Learning does not end when the school bell rings. The way children spend their time during the summer plays a significant role in their personal and academic development. The FIU EV3 Robotics Summer Program creates the opportunity for students to get a head start on their 2015-2016 school year curriculum. The program offers participants some resources designed to help students develop a strong educational foundation including:
The program is committed to helping first-generation students interested in Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) through Project Based Learning (PBL).
The FIU EV3 Robotics Program will operate June 19, 2017 to July 28, 2017. Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Transportation will be available both from North Miami Middle and Edison Park K-8 Center to Florida International University's Biscayne Bay Campus. Students will receive a nutritional breakfast and lunch.
